The itinerary for the walk is detailed below
Saturday,6th June 2009
07.50 hrs Meet at the Pirton War Memorial
08.00 hrs Short multi-denominational service
08.15 hrs Breakfast for the sponsored walkers at the Fox
08.45 hrs Commence the walk, cross country from Pirton to north of Hatfield.
Road walk for final 1.5 miles to overnight stop.
Estimated distance 23 miles.
Estimated time of arrival between 17.00 hrs and 18.45 hrs
Overnight stop at Hatfield Oak Hotel
Sunday,7th June 2009
Walk from Hatfield to the Cenotaph, Whitehall
Depart hotel after breakfast and photographs no later than 09.00 hrs
Walk main roads to central London
Estimated distance 21.5 miles
Estimated time of arrival to be confirmed, possibly around 17.00 to 18.30 hrs
On arrival there will be a short wreath laying service at the Cenotaph
The walkers will then make their way back to Pirton and regroup at the Fox for a
celebratory drink or two.
