The squash match in Afghanistan entered a more dangerous phaseyesterday as it was confirmed that a crack Pirton Highland Regiment had entered enemy territory.

5,000 jobs cut at Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce, the world’s second-largest aircraft engine maker, is to cut 5,000 jobs.

In Britain 3,800 people, 13 per cent of the total workforce, will lose their jobs.

A spokesman for the company said “we’re not worried. We’re talking to someone recently released from his previous company who we are confident can turn the situation round for us. He has the full backing of the Chairman.”

Co-founder of elite, Hertfordshire squash club, the Prats, announced his retirement earlier this week. In an exclusive, in-depth interview with the Daily Pratograph the legendery Two Bounce Stedham said  “I didn’t know I was retiring, I thought I was only moving house.”

Speculation on Two Bounce’s move has been rife for some time following a run of poor results by the club. When the club chairman stated in a recent interview “I, and the club, have every confidence in Two Bounce and we are sure that, given time and the new money that we between Two Bounce and this club” the writing seemed to be on the wall (of the Motte and Bailey Gents are putting up for new players, he can turn the situation  round.” and “there is no rift

Whatever history will say, one thing is absolutely sure, the Prats will never be quite the same again after the  departure of Two Bounce. A genuine inspiration, but, more importantly,   a good laugh.
