MY FIRST SIGHTING OF THE PIRTON WEB SITE.

I found the web site very interesting. I lived in Pirton at Orchard Cottage, High St. from 1939 to 1955, attended the village school until 11yrs. old and then Hitchin Boys Grammar School until 16yrs.old.

The only name I recognise on your web site is Barry Simmons, (please give him my best regards). It would be nice to see a picture of my old home and also the village school. The blacksmith pond was also interesting as I fell in it many times to my mothers horror. It would be nice to hear from people who were of my age group if they still live or return occasionally to the village, can you arrange this?

Does docklins (? spelling) and toot hill still exist? Do the Cook family still own the FOX pub? etc. etc. I have lived in the USA for many years and it would be nice to hear from some of my old school friends to find out what happened to everyone. In the USA, they hold school reunions where classmates meet every 5yrs or so to keep in touch and have fun for 24hrs. Suggest to Barry Simmons that he should organise a 50 to 55 yr. anniversary/get together!

I look forward to keeping in touch with life in Pirton.

Kind Regards, Martin Cloke.

Martin would obviously welcome contact from anyone who knew him from his Pirton days. Please contact me on jontywild@pirton.org.uk or 711383 and I'll give you his email address or if you don't have access to email I can get his mail address. But even if you don't have email, but have a friend or family that do why not give it a go and contact him that way, you'll be surprised how easy it is! - Jonty
