PIRTON PARENT, BABY & TODDLER GROUPPirton toddler group is a friendly group of babies, crawlers, toddlers,
mums, dads and grandparents, with new members always very welcome. It
really is a great way to get to know others in the village.
Our regular Tuesday morning meetings are a chance to try out some new
- and some possibly antique - toys and games, with a different craft
activity organised each week. There is also singing and music, tea,
coffee, chat, biscuits and running. To raise funds for the group, each
term we invite a variety of visitors selling anything from T-shirts to
books, and a photographer.
This year we had a little cake stall at the Pirton Summer Fair which,
as anticipated, was very popular with the children (and sweet-toothed
adults). A very lucky winner also guessed the name of our Teddy.
During the holidays, a summer fun day was held in the school gardens
with bouncy castles and picnics. It was a hot day: the children had a
great time toddling about whilst the dads managed to cool down with
chilled beers.
We also organise the all-important parents’ social events: in the
past these have included pub visits and theatre trips.
There are two annual Christmas parties. Santa is invited to the kids’
party and mince pies are eaten. The parents’ party was also held in the
village hall last year, giving the advantage that everybody could more
or less walk home! It was changed into a fairyland curry house with
lights, gazebos, candles, cava and Ravi Shankar.
Meetings are on Tuesday mornings from 0930 (or whenever you make it!)
to 1130 in the village hall.
Please call Jane (711 765), Claire (712 507), Julia (713 466) or
Catherine (713 542) for more details, or just turn up. The first session
is free with subsequent sessions £1.50. We look forward to seeing you!
