This is a book of 50 pages and is published by Hitchin Museum and the People's War Partnership.  It is a wonderful collection peoples memories of the World War 2 and not just Hitchin people, but also memories of residents from surrounding villages, including Pirton.

Pirton is represented by Ken Burton's memories of the war years.

Written and compiled by the Pirton Local History Group; 9 themed chapters, 152 pages 400 black & white photographs with detailed captions. The source of almost all of the material has been interviews and discussions with past and present residents of Pirton, or with people with strong connections with the village. Other important sources were the Parish Magazine, the Minutes of the Parish Council, and newspapers and documents from Hitchin Museum and the County Record Office in Hertford.
