Dear Patricia,
I am very interested in your Walkers, am very excited that you
have contacted me. Have been busy all day and it is now 1.30 a.m.!!! so I must
go to bed. Is your file very big? I have so many people on my programme (all
from different families) as I do a lot of genealogy so I have over
90,0000 names. With gedcom I have to go through each name individually otherwise
I can really mess up my information. If there is no other way I would love the
gedcom but I was wondering if the file was not too big could you print it to the
harddrive and copy it to a floppy. Because of the amount of information I have I
have a very high level of security on my anti-virus and cannot open attachments
because of the terrible virus problem around at the moment.
So close to Christmas now it might be a bit awkward for me but
as soon as I can I will do a printout of what I have and will actually post it

From what you say think your George might be the cousin of my George so I will be so grateful for any clarification.

I have Walkers in my family tree from Pirton, several Georges and James, including James Walker who married Selina Goldsmith (my GG Grandparents) in Pirton on February 18, 1860. James was the son of William Walker and Mary Odell, and grandson of Thomas Walker and Ann, if these Walkers are of any interest to you, let me know and I can send you a GEDCOM.

I have been in touch with you before and think the Pirton website is wonderful. I am from Australia and have just recently been to England, and to Pirton and wished that I could have more time there. You find a little information and then realise you need a whole lot more. I think I told you that my family was the family of George Walker who married Mary Ann Taylor and ran the Bucks Head at Little Wymondley. Both George and Mary are buried at St. Marys in Pirton. His father was James who married Eliza Wright and prior to that there was a marriage with a Hanscombe so I am researching Walkers, two families of Taylors, Hanscombe and Wrights. Is there anybody out there who can help me please with any of these families. I am finding that there are, for example multiples of George Walkers, multiples of James Walkers etc.. They do marry into the Kingsley, Burton, Shepperd, Groves and Graves and many other families and I would appreciate any help I can get.

Dear Jonty
In the hopes of obtaining information and also helping others with their research I am going to attach a printout of my version of the Wright family - which in effect becomes the Walker family from Pirton so far as I know it. It is difficult researching from Australia. I don't know whether you will receive this or be able to print it but I don't know how else to do it.
Please let me know what is the best way to do it. There are 30 pages I think and somebody there will, I think, be interested.
