Dear Jonty,
I have been looking at your excellent website on Pirton and would like to ask you to add my name to the list of people researching ancestors in Pirton. I am trying to find more on Charles Dawson, a shepherd, born in Pirton about 1804 and possibly married Sophia Ward there in 1825. His son David Dawson, born Pirton about 1832, married Mary Ann and they were living at Dog Kennel Farm in Hitchin by 1881. David attended the British School in Hitchin for the children of the working poor in 1842.
This is my New Zealand husbands family, and though by a great coincidence I grew up in Baldock so am familiar with this area, as we now live in South Australia I would welcome any input from local researchers.
