To: The People of Pirton,
I am researching my family history and your beautiful village of Pirton figures prominently thus I am appealing to you for assistance in the event you have any information that will help. I have lived in Canada for the last 30 years so personal local research is obviously limited.
My Grandmother was Lillian Grace Lake (nee Shepherd) and she was married to Reginald Lake, they lived in a cottage that was a row of 4 - 5 cottages on the road through Pirton near the pond. My Grandmother was one of 6 daughters; her sisters were named Sis, Maud, Mabel E., Rosetta and Gordelia (although the spellings could be wrong). She had 4 brothers: Clarence F, Hedley Albert, Bertie John and Housy(?). Her father's name was Alfred but I have no other information about him and no information whatsoever on her mother other than I believe she was Elizabeth. (Photographs appear below).
My Grandfather was Reginald Lake who was born in the 3rd quarter of 1895, I believe his mother was named Emma and he had the following siblings; Herbert L., Charles, Alice, Leonard, Annie E., and Ralph Joseph. His father was George Lake and worked with the railway however that is all I know about him.
I am interested in any information on the foregoing Lake or Shepherd families if
anyone has any knowledge of this family, however small, I would be most
