Dear Jonty
My Grandfather came from Pirton and I am trying to trace his ancestry. His name was John Weeden, although he was known as Jack. His father's name was George Weeden and his mother's name was Emma Arnold.
Mr Grandfather was born in 1883 and he is buried in the churchyard with his wife Hilda. In later life he lived in Hitchin, but I do know he used to visit someone in the village called Olive.
I would appreciate it if you could put this information somewhere on your site just in case there is anyone still in the village who remembers my family.
