Hello JontyI have been doing some
research on John Burges, He did marry Sarah Arnold (27th January 1795) in
Pulloxhill Beds. He had two children, they were Lucy-Ann and James. I
Think Sarah died in Child birth.

I know John Burges married Sarah Arnold in Pulloxhill Beds on
27 Jan 1775. They had Lucy Ann and James who was born in Pirton on 1797 16
April. I came from James line he > married Elizabeth they had nine children.

Did some checking for you and this is what I
found
John Burgess married Elizabeth Gailor at Holwell
on the 13/12/1787
could not find a marriage for John and Sarah but
found the marriage for John and Elizabeth Bullock at Pirton on the
21/11/1803
Children For John and Elizabeth as Follows
Mary Chr 8th April 1788 Pirton
Mary Ann Chr 8th April 1792 at Pirton
Also these Deaths 1794
Elizabeth wife of John Burgess Feb 6th
Mary dau of John and Elizabeth Burgess 1st Feb
Then we have
James Burgess Chr to John and Sarah Burgess 16th
April 1797
and
William Chr to John and Mary Burgess 6th July
1800 ( could this be his other marriage)
and
Ann Chr to John and Elizabeth Burgess 10th of
June 1804
Maria Chr to John and Elizabeth Burgess 8th Jan
1809 she married James Reynolds at Pirton on the 4th of October 1829.
Now as for Francis and Mary Burgis at Pirton
Wiliam Chr 3rd Feb 1758 at Pirton
Peter Chr 23rd Dec 1759 at Pirton
George Chr 16th April 1773 at Pirton
Elizabeth Chr 20th Dec 1775 and died 29th Jan
1776
Anne Chr 26th Oct 1777
also a Timothy Nutt Burgess Chr to Francis and
Elizabeth Burgess 18th Aug 1782
after rechecking my list for Pirton I also found
an entry that was missed and that was for another child for Francis and Mary
James Burgess Chr 12th of March 1770 to Francis
and Mary Burgess
going by this John could be a child of Francis
and Mary but the register will need to be rechecked and the film has now
gone back.
The time to check would be the gap between 1759
and 1770 as no children appear for this time which I found strange. And as
the film is very bad for this time span you will need to take your time when
checking the film.
Did not find a marriage for Francis and Mary
either could be married else where. And as for deaths I did not do all just
the ones with Kingsley's on the pages.

Me again, regarding Elaine Nicholls request,
here is what I have:John BURGESS, bap.
4 April 1762, St. Mary's, Pirton, parents Francis BURGESS born abt 1737, and
Mary 1741-1779 - John was the 3rd son out of 9 children
I only have two marriages for him so Sarah
ARNOLD is a new one for me.
The marriages I have are 1) Elizabeth GAYLOR
of Holwell - married December 1787
two children: Mary 1788 and Mary Ann 1792.
Marriage 2) Elizabeth (no last name so this could be BULLARD) married Pirton
21 November 1803, 2 children Anne 1804 and Maria 1809. If Elaine has the
details to his marriage to Sarah ARNOLD, I would be most interested.
